I made this cookie dough hummus one afternoon for my kids. They ended up eating it with apple slices while standing at the counter — no plates, no forks, just my three boys dipping and arguing about whose turn it was. Fold in chocolate chips, let it chill for a couple hours, and it actually comes out with a thick cookie dough consistency. It’s been in our after-school rotation ever since, and it makes a perfect summer snack to keep stocked in the fridge all week.

Cookie Dough Hummus

with a high-protein option

10 minutes to make

8 ingredients

Makes 10 servings

Ingredients

15oz garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drained and rinsed

20g old fashioned oats (1/4 cup)

2 tsp vanilla

32g almond butter (2 tbsp)

42g raw honey (2 tbsp)

75ml Fairlife skim milk, or sub other milk (1/3 cup)

90g sugar free milk chocolate chips (1/2 cup)

60g vanilla protein powder (optional, usually about 2 scoops) I use Legion Whey + Vanilla and macros are calculated using that

2 extra tbsp milk (if using protein powder)

Directions

  • Drain and rinse chickpeas. Pick off any skins that fall away naturally. Add to a food processor and blend until crumbly.
  • Add oats, vanilla, almond butter, and honey. Blend and scrape down the sides.
  • Pour in milk and blend again until smooth and creamy.
  • If adding protein powder, blend it in now with the extra tablespoon (or two) of milk.
  • Transfer to a bowl and fold in chocolate chips. If the hummus feels warm from blending, let it sit a few minutes first so the chips don’t melt.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate for a few hours. Once chilled, it sets to a thick cookie dough consistency.
